- I am currently working with dev-c, and I realy dont want to switch to some other IDE, but I do want to use c11, which the built-in compiler in dev-c does not support. I don't know if I can change the default compiler, or even which compiler to use!
- #pragma warning can enable or disable certain warnings. Syntax #pragma warning disable warning-list #pragma warning restore warning-list Parameters. Warning-list A comma-separated list of warning numbers. The 'CS' prefix is optional. When no warning numbers are specified, disable disables all warnings and restore enables all warnings.
- Running on Windows XP (32-bit). Each time when I start Dev-C 5.11 the attached warning message appears. Is this something to worry about? And how can I prevent it.
The articles in this section of the documentation explain diagnostic error and warning messages that are generated by the Microsoft C/C++ compiler and build tools.
It is a schizo question: 'how do we force a dev to pay attention' vs 'how do we let him ignore it anyway'. That just doesn't make a lot of sense. Maybe you should leave it up to the ingenuity of the dev to bypass the law. It isn't difficult, the boss can't force project settings anyway. – Hans Passant Jan 4 '11 at 23:43.
Important Objective development software gmbh little snitch online.
The Visual Studio compilers and build tools can report many kinds of errors and warnings. After an error or warning is found, the build tools may make assumptions about code intent and attempt to continue, so that more issues can be reported at the same time. If the tools make the wrong assumption, later errors or warnings may not apply to your project. When you correct issues in your project, always start with the first error or warning that's reported, and rebuild often. One fix may make many subsequent errors go away.
To get help on a particular diagnostic message in Visual Studio, select it in the Output window and press the F1 key. Visual Studio opens the documentation page for that error, if one exists. You can also use the search tool above to find articles about specific errors or warnings. Or, browse the list of errors and warnings by tool and type in the navigation pane on this page.
Note
Not every Visual Studio error or warning is documented. In many cases, the diagnostic message provides all of the information that's available. If you landed on this page when you used F1 and you think the error or warning message needs additional explanation, let us know. You can use the feedback buttons on this page to raise a documentation issue on GitHub, or a product issue on the Developer Community site. You can also send feedback and enter bugs within the IDE. In Visual Studio, go to the menu bar and choose Help > Send Feedback > Report a Problem, or submit a suggestion by using Help > Send Feedback > Send a Suggestion.
You may find additional assistance for errors and warnings in Microsoft's public forums. Or, search for the error or warning number on the Visual Studio C++ Developer Community site. You can also search for errors and warnings and ask questions on Stack Overflow to find solutions.

Does anyone have similar problem. I mean I can use the library just fine, but I don't want to see any warnings at all. Let me know. Far as I know, I have setup my VC6 correctly with include and lib folder and such.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I missed this thread, sorry ..It would help if you could tell us what the warnings are. Most warnings are usually OK to ignore, but cant say for sure without knowing what warnings you're getting.

Example of one of the 12 warnings. The rest are similar.![States States](/uploads/1/2/6/2/126248839/682217334.png)

Ah. There's nothing you can do about those. That's down to the STL, which Corona uses, using really long symbols that the browse information doesnt like. If you dont want to see those warnings (which are annoying in their unfixability) you can either disable browse info or stick this at the top of corona.h somewhere:T.

It's also worth noting that there is a known bug in VC 6.0 where disabling warning 4786 does not work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. 12/06/2004 (11:02 am)
Really ? Odd, it's always worked for me. 12/08/2004 (9:10 am)
It's a weird voodoo thing. In a workspace with over 20,000 source files (with heavy STL use) there are about 3 files that refuse to stifle that warning no matter what we do.http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;167355

Ahh, I've never used the STL in a project that large, might be why I havent come up against it. I tend to studiously avoid the STL these days :) Dev C 5.11 Download
